1. Our commitment
Veltrion Group is committed to a workplace and operating culture that is safe, respectful, inclusive and accountable. We expect leaders and team members to protect the dignity of colleagues, supporters, clients and members of the community and to act when behaviour falls below that standard.
Safeguarding is a shared responsibility. Commercial pressure, seniority, performance or client demands never excuse unsafe, discriminatory or harmful conduct.
2. Who and where this applies
This Statement applies to directors, employees, contractors, applicants, volunteers where applicable and people acting for Veltrion. It covers offices, public fundraising sites, travel, training, events, accommodation, online systems, messaging channels and work-related social activity.
3. Expected culture
- Treat people with dignity, fairness and professional respect.
- Create space for questions, feedback and good-faith challenge.
- Use authority responsibly and never exploit a power imbalance.
- Make decisions without unlawful discrimination or favouritism.
- Address unsafe behaviour early and support people who speak up.
- Balance performance with wellbeing, quality and sustainable work practices.
4. Safeguarding in public-facing work
Field teams may interact with children, older people, people with disability and others who may be vulnerable. Team members must maintain professional boundaries, avoid being alone with a child as part of work activity, never seek personal relationships or private contact through supporter information, and escalate concerns through a manager.
Where a person appears unable to make an informed decision, the interaction must stop. Immediate safety concerns should be referred to emergency services or an appropriate authority.
5. Unacceptable conduct
- Bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, victimisation or retaliation.
- Violence, threats, intimidation, coercion or humiliating behaviour.
- Sexualised comments, unwanted contact or abuse of authority.
- Deliberate disregard of safety, consent, privacy or campaign rules.
- Possessing or working under the influence of substances in a way that creates risk.
- Suppressing, falsifying or interfering with a complaint, incident or investigation.
6. Speaking up
Concerns may be raised with a team leader, manager, executive leader or info@veltrion.com. A person may bypass their usual reporting line where it is involved in the concern or they do not feel safe using it.
Veltrion will take reasonable steps to protect confidentiality, prevent retaliation and provide procedural fairness. Absolute confidentiality cannot be promised where disclosure is required to keep someone safe, investigate fairly or comply with law.
7. Response and accountability
Reports are assessed according to safety, seriousness and urgency. Veltrion may implement interim measures, preserve evidence, arrange support, investigate internally or externally, notify a client or authority, or take disciplinary and contractual action.
Knowingly false or malicious reports may themselves breach workplace expectations. A concern that is not substantiated is not, by itself, a false or malicious report.
8. Capability, wellbeing and review
Veltrion supports this Statement through onboarding, leadership expectations, campaign training, field supervision, reporting pathways and periodic review. Team members are encouraged to seek support early when workload, conflict, safety or wellbeing may affect them or others.
This Statement will continue to develop as Veltrion grows and as operational and safeguarding expectations evolve.
